If congress doesn't reach a compromise with President Obama by Sept. 30th 2013, the government will run out of money.

Who will be affected and how?

By mid October the United States will have exhausted emergency spending options and will be left with only about $50 billion to pay it's bills.

In the event of a shutdown government employees will be broken into "Essential or non-Essential employees. One third of the federal work force who "Provide National security" or for the "Safety of life and property" will be paid & continue working.

What  does that mean to you?

• All national parks, museums and monuments must remain closed
• Visa & Passport applications will be put on hold
• Centers of Disease Control and Prevention would close as the flu season begins
• Federal loans will be put on hold
• Federal gun permits will be put on hold
