Government Shut down FAQs

1. Who are the Essential workers?
A. Congress, President, Defense dept. officials, transportation safety administration workers, food inspectors, air traffic controllers, uniformed military personnel, border patrol agents and others in that class will continue working and get paid when the government reopens.


2.Will I still get mail?
A. while postal service employees are federal workers, the Postal offices budget is NOT funded by the US Treasury. Meaning the bureau is largely unaffected by the shut down.


3.What about my Social Security check?
A. Post offices will be up and running un affected & social security checks will still be mailed out.
